postheadericon YOUNG: SOLKSJÆR IS A GREAT MANAGER

Former Manchester United star Ashley Young has hailed the Red Devils’ manager, Olé Gunnar Solksjær amid reports that he had a fall-out with the Norwegian boss which led to his departure from Old Trafford. The Inter Milan player revealed recently that he and Solksjær s maintain a respectable relationship and that there is no problem whatsoever between the pair. He was holding the interview after celebrating winning the Italian Serie A title with the Milan giants.

Speaking on his time at United under Solksjær, Young said the manager arrived with a friendly approach and immediately established a cordial relationship with his players which led to the positive results that were coming the club’s way. Young said although the former Molde manager didn’t come to United with that much experience, he was still able to cope with the pressure that comes with managing a club in the English Premier League.

When asked if there was an issue between him and his former boss, Young played down those reports and claimed that they were just rumors. He added that it was normal for the manager to be interested in bringing in new faces and it was always going to mean that there would be more competition for places in the squad.

Solksjær signed Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace and it meant that Young would no longer be getting enough playing time at the club, hence, it led to his departure from United and he joined Inter Milan.

Speaking on the incident, Young said at first it felt strange because he was a regular before the arrival of Solksjær but then he figured it was only natural and for the future of the club that a competitor was signed. The Serie A winner concluded by saying Solksjær is a great manager and will be successful at Manchester United.
